Our journey began many moons ago as a mere seed. The founders were sitters, just like those on the Vacay platform. Over time, they became pet owners and recognized the need for a community that could connect quickly and safely.
The seed sprouted into action when the founders left to hike Amatola in October 2023, only to have their sitter cancel at the last minute. Stranded with nobody to care for their fur baby and not enough time to find a new sitter, they realized the urgency of their mission. By February 2024, that seed had grown into a tree, now tall enough to support the community.
Meet Dhiraj Sharma, the energetic force and co-founder behind Vacay Sitters. Hailing from the vibrant landscapes of India, Dhiraj is a true adventurer at heart. When he’s not scaling new heights in business, you’ll find him scaling mountains on thrilling hikes. Known for his love of challenges, Dhiraj thrives on pushing boundaries and exploring uncharted territories. As our fearless leader, he brings a unique zest and determination to everything he does, inspiring the team to reach new summits.
Meet Bianca Sharma, the creative mastermind and co-founder of Vacay Sitters. Born and raised in Cape Town, Bianca is an ardent hiker and a true animal enthusiast who cherishes every creature, big or small. With an uncanny ability to find the silver lining in any situation, she infuses positivity and optimism into all her endeavors. Typically found weaving her creative magic behind the scenes, Bianca’s innovative spirit and unwavering love for nature and creativity make her an invaluable force in our journey.
Meet Manelisi, our Head of Engineering at Vacay Sitters. A proud Durbanite, he blends a laid-back vibe with a relentless drive for innovation. When he’s not crafting top-tier tech, you’ll find him fueling his passion for drifting or unwinding with his four German Shepherds on a slow Sunday.
